Mr. An, Saint Paul School Administrator, visits Daoming schools
On August 24, 2010, Mr. An Jingdao, Administrator of Saint Paul School in Macau, and benefactor A-chai, were accompanied by Ms. Margarita Chen Li to visit the 4 Daoming schools. They had a very sincere conversation with the teachers of all schools to understand their dificulties, teaching ideas and demands to improve the quality of their teaching. The teachers were very positive in their opinions, and expressed many useful comments about the construction.
During this trip, they also visited the poor Miao village of Denglongshan. Here live more than 20 Miao families. Due to the isolation of the place, the fact that they are ""free migrants"", the severe drought affecting this area as well as the poor quality of the soil, their lives is extremely difficult, with an annual income per family of less than CNY 1,000. This year the drought is the worst in more than 100 years, and the people have to go to a place 4 kms. aways to get water, and they are unable to solve their long-standing drinking water problem. In view of these circumstances, Mr. An immediately decided to build one water cistern per family capable of storing about 20 cubic meters of water, in order to solve the problem of drinking water once and for all.
At the time of leaving the place, the whole village, young and old, sang for us beautiful and moving Miao songs. Our hearts were restless looking at those touching eyes, but deep inside we were also singing a love song, and its sound echoed in the valley...
